The Elephant Race

A light blue sky against the tan, golden sand dunes. No clouds on the sky and the limitless horizon of the green-blue sea extending in front of me.
I hear a noise, a low rumble that increases and then I see them, the elephants, running along the beach. They reach me, and keep running, grey, majestic, elegant . . .
I watch them as they go by, the air so clear and crisp, and suddenly the glide past me in absolute silence.
